I’m embarrassed to admit it, but in the last three weeks I have managed four trips to various fast food joints in the area. For someone who has only had fast food once a year for the last several years-this is a bad thing. A very bad thing.
Today I was hit by the realization that going for fast food is a bad thing. Literally.
I had stopped at a McDonalds on the way home from work. I was dying to use the bathroom and while I was there decided to get a coffee. I was standing in line waiting to order my drink when all of a sudden I was hit in the back of the head by a mop. Not hard, but hard enough to startle me into common sense. I definitely don’t need to be eating fast food so often-or ever if I can help it. I still ended up buying my coffee but from now on I’ll be skipping the detours on the way home to get coffee or whatever.
In all honesty, I think I’m the only person with the luck of getting hit in the head with a mop while waiting in line at a fast food joint. I seriously have the weirdest luck ever.

A mop? At MacDonald’s? You were hit in the head with a mop at MacDonald’s and you’re suing someone? Wow! I am so impressed! Rather than claiming some sort of false injury you are using this as a wake-up call to avoid fast food instead.
Brilliant!
You’re right, though, it’s an easy habit to get into but a bad one, too. Good luck to you in avoiding all future fast food visits (unless you really, really gotta stop in to use the facilities!).

Don’t know how you can drink their coffee either.

Please explain – how did you get hit in the back of the head with a mop? What were they doing with that mop?

Ouch! How dreadful – I hope the person wielding the mop apologised.
Puss

I would take that as a sign to avoid fast food as well, Sil. Good luck to you on this.

That sounds like something out of a movie scene.
What an interesting way to realize that maybe Fast Food isn’t the best idea.

I hope they gave you the coffee for free since they hit you in the head with a mop.

OMG-that is very funny-not because you got hit in the head with a mop but because that is TOTALLY something that would happen to me…
So, that’s why it’s funny…I’m glad to hear that i”m not the only one with crazy weird luck.

Wow, most people need a much more serious wake up call and a lot of people would sue the crap out of McDonald’s for abuse and demand the employee be fired.
I like you. Your smart and sensible AND sane (even if you do have weird back luck)
AND YEAH – U2 IN NOVEMBER!

Hehehe aww, that is so a thing that can only happen in McDonalds! The staff in those places are awful! I haven’t had a McDonalds in ages… might be time to have one

You must have needed the coffee badly to be laying on the floor like that …..
Another blogger recently was served a bug in her fast food salad and has sworn off visiting as well. I’d rather be hit with a mop!

Sorry about the mop hit. I love their iced coffee…addicting.

Kind of like the “I could’ve had a V8″ slap on the forehead like they do in the commercials, only with a mop..and in the back of the head. I’ve never been hit by a mop handle at McDonald’s, and I worked there. I did slip on the floor, and that was a sign for me to stop rushing around when they’ve just mopped the floors.

lol. That is awesome. It’s like the figurative anvil on the head.
Funny the things that give us wake up calls.

fast food is like heroine.

I really don’t like fast food and avoid it as much as possible….and discourage my kids from eating fast food….I figure if you are going to put calories into your body why not make them ones that are going to count in a positive way…..

McDonald’s is everywhere, saw it in France and Italy and was dismayed because it sticks out like a sore thumb among all the other places!

i just had mcdonald’s yesterday! i really need to cut it down though. i only like it because it’s convenient.

You mean by the other end of the mop, don’t you?
I rarely do fast-food stuff. And I hate McDonald’s for the smells inside their shops. And I also agree that their coffee is one of the worst.
