my new desktop computer that is.
I went shopping with my mom and sister today in order to hit up the big Macy’s sale that was going on and decided that today was the day that I finally purchased the new desktop computer that I have been wanting. It’s a Gateway…came with the tower, a HD screen, keyboard, mouse and an all in one printer. With everything it came out to less than what I paid for this piece of shit laptop.
I’m not setting it up until I get to NY. It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to get it out of the packaging, setting it up and having to take it apart and place it back in the boxes less than a week later. I can contain my excitement/trepidation for another week.
I’m a bit worried as it’s a Vista but I really don’t think I have a choice anymore. It’s the first edition though, the version that was released a few years ago so I’m hoping that the major issues have already been ironed out…one can hope at any rate. I took out a two year service plan at any rate-an in home service plan, so at least I will have that to fall back on if there’s any issues.
I think now I’m pretty set on things I need for moving…aside from boxes, which hopefully my brother is going to take care for me (he works in a grocery store). In edition to the computer I was also able to buy a new bathrobe ($6) and a new sheet set ($9)…and about five used cd’s.
I had a kind of strange encounter today at Ruby Tuesday’s though. We had lunch there (my choice) and as I was heading to my seat from the salad bar one of the waiters stopped me to ask where I went to college…I told him and as it turned out we had a Psychology class together. I couldn’t remember him, but it was a big class…but we chatted a few minutes about school and what we were up to. I still didn’t get his name though! Nice guy at any rate…

Yay for new computers! I bought my laptop right before I moved to Boston and it’s awesome-I do have Vista though…and I have to say I don’t love it.
I don’t hate it though-and so far not had any problems-but in retrospect, I would have chosen something differnt.

Congrats on your PC! Don’t worry too much about Vista, its got the bugs worked out now and once you learn it I think you will like it. We have it at work and there are some pretty dang cool features. It does take getting used to.
Now about the guy at Ruby’s….was he cute? single?

ooh shopping fun hehe
I wouldn’t worry about Vista I’ve had it for nearly a year and haven’t had a single problem with it. I don’t know why everyone else doesn’t like it. It’s quite snazzy too

Nice one on the new computer.
Vista’s ok if you have enough memory…otherwise it will slow your shit down like you wouldn’t believe.

Congrads on the purchase, Nicky. My wife and I bought a Gateway a couple years ago and have been very happy with it.
I haven’t been to your site in a spell, but like how you now include pictures on many of your posts.
Wishing you all the best for the summer of ‘8!

A new computer is always fun but a bit scary. I think I would want to check it out that everything works before I moved just in case but I think there is a Macey’s in New York, if you have to return it. Let us know what you think of Vista. I chose not to get it when I got this computer but that was a year ago and it still was a bit buggy hopefully they have cured that.

Congrats on the new desktop. I have a laptop that I never use. I simply prefer the desktop so much more. My laptop came with Vista and I HATE it.
A robe for $6 and a sheet set for $9….great!!! I love bargains like that.
I love Ruby Tuesday’s salad bar…they have so many yummy things on it.
